A Page Is Turned

This blog has been a long time coming. Is that the right phrase? It doesn't seem to make sense when I type it out. I have wanted to start a blog for a long time now, but I didn't know what I would write or if I would really have enough to say to justify having a blog. I recently posted a few blogs on myspace (I will probably move those over here eventually), but I liked the idea of having a real blog better. And now that baby Will will be here soon, hopefully I will have plenty to blog about or at least post pictures of him. I have always wanted to be a good scrapbooker, but considering I have almost been married for 3 years and still have not finished my wedding scrapbook, I think it is time to come out of denial. So I was thinking this would be a great alternative to a scrapbook...and really its even better than a scrapbook because there is a lot more room for writing and it can never be lost or ruined (unless I accidentally click the blue button that says "Delete This Blog" - which I am already paranoid about). Once I finally decided to start a blog, I couldn't decide what the title would be. This was actually something that I thought about for a long time until I finally came with something....

A Page Is Turned. You may recognize this as the title of my favorite Bebo Norman song. This song was in our wedding. Well, it was supposed to be in our wedding. We made a video slideshow to go along with it that was supposed to play during the lighting of the unity candle. We had some technical difficulties right before the wedding, and it just didn't happen. But they were able to get everything fixed and play it at the reception. I don't think it had the same effect, but something had to go wrong, right? Anyway, I am going to include the video in this post (hopefully) and you can listen to the song yourself. It's a really sweet song and I love it. I thought the blog title was appropriate since another page will be turning soon with the birth of our son, Will!

Now for the wedding slideshow....

I am really hoping this works because it took me a long time to even figure out how to get it in some kind of format where I could actually post it (which also explains the ad). I don't think I've actually watched this video since our wedding reception and I forgot how much I love it.

Some thoughts I had while watching the video:

1. Chris was such a cute little boy. I hope Will looks just like him! Does anyone else see a resemblance of Kevin from the Wonder Years?

2. There is a picture of my dad baptizing Chris back in October of 2001. That was about a month before we started dating. I just think it's a really neat picture.

3. It brings up a lot of fun memories. There is a picture of Chris sitting in a NASCAR. I gave him tickets to the race in Dallas for our 2nd Valentine's Day together. He loves NASCAR and he had never been to a race before. It was really fun to see how excited he was and how much he loved it. He proposed to me that summer. Do you think this had anything to do with it? Yeah, I'm thinking the NASCAR tickets were a good idea!

4. I hope I'm that skinny again someday!

One more thing - I need some more blog friends! Kristin is my only one right now...so if you want to be my blog friend, please leave me a comment so that I can add you. And I really hope this will encourage some of my friends and family out there that don't have blogs yet to start them. It is so much fun, I promise!

Will someone leave me a comment and let me know if the video is working? It worked on one of our computers, and not the other. Here is a link to it, if it's not working.
