Carseats

This video was posted on a mommy message board that I'm a part of today and was of particular interest to me since we will be getting a new carseat for Will soon. I didn't even know that these types of carseats could face backwards...so I thought I would pass along the info in case others out there didn't know (or maybe I'm the only one??).

My Necklace

IMG_8025e web

I got this necklace for Mother's Day and a lot of people have been asking me where I got it. I have told many people that I would email them the link and I haven't and now I don't know where to start. So here's the info - it's from moppetsclosets on etsy.com. Didn't Chris do a good job? Of putting in the credit card info, that is. :)

If you haven't heard of etsy, you need to go to the website ASAP and search for anything. It is all handmade items and you can find literally anything. I love it. You can also find some interesting items such as this (note that it only includes the cute dress) and I'm sure some of you moms out there with daughters would enjoy this. Seriously, I want to get Will this hat for the winter and this one. I could spend hours on etsy!

Let me know what you find!

Bring the Rain

Kristin told me about this blog several months ago and I didn't want to read it because it just seemed like it would be too sad. But I started reading it a couple of months ago and I'm hooked. It is sad, but it is also SO encouraging and even funny at times. I'm always blessed by Angie's posts. I've seen others link to her blog on their blogs, but I didn't feel led to until tonight. I read the most recent post and I just cried (and I'm still crying). I'm crying because two moms lost their tiny babies and it isn't fair...it seems so wrong. Yet, they are able to let God use their story to bring glory to His name. I'm also crying because she asked her readers to PRAY and to leave a comment if you are praying...the response is incredible. You should see for yourself and you should PRAY (and leave a comment).

To read the story from the beginning click here.
This post also encouraged me.
This is Greg and Nicol's story.
I also really like this post and this one that goes with it.
But you really should just read it from the beginning.
It may take a few days, but it's worth it.

Surely my little baby boy is not turning one next month! It really does seem impossible. He really is turning into a big boy though. Not a whole lot has changed since his 10 month update but there are a few fun new things:

He got his first "real" hair cut! I have trimmed it a few times, but we decided he needed a serious cut this time.

He was not so sure about it at first...

But then he warmed up a little...

I think he was a satisfied customer...

He took his first step...but it is the only step we've seen him take! My dad said he saw him take a step yesterday while he was at their house. Two steps down, many more to come!

He loves to dance!! It is so hilarious and we really need to get his on video.

He has mastered signing "more"...here is a video to prove it. The video is long but I think it's within the first minute or so.

He spent the night away from his mommy and daddy for the first time. This was probably tougher on his mommy than on him. Hopefully he won't learn how to ask to spend the night somewhere for a looong time! ha!

He got to go swimming twice this week and loved it.

He was worn out after swimming yesterday!

And here is one more picture from last month. My mom and I were shopping and I guess he had had enough!

Happy Father's Day!

I know this is late...but it is a very important post that couldn't be passed up!

Will is so lucky to have such a great daddy!! Chris always (well most of the time) wants to make sure Will is having fun. He would buy him all the toys in the world (especially Hot Wheels) if he could. Will always perks up when he hears the garage door open when Chris comes home from work. As soon as he sees his daddy, he crawls over to him because he knows it's play time! We love you, Chris!

Will is also lucky have awesome grandfathers!

We love you, Pop and Grandpa!

Laundry Night

I know my blog is need of a serious update! I actually haven't been too busy this last week, but we have been doing a lot of fun things and I've just been enjoying some relaxation!

I go to a mom's group every other Monday night. We call it Laundry Night...although I hate to admit that I still don't get why it's called that. Maybe someone will explain it to me again? Anyway, we had a retreat last weekend and it was so much fun! I let Katrina wax my lip and eyebrows for the first time (ouch). And Toni gave me a foot massage...does it get any better than that? :) Seriously, these ladies are a such a blessing in my life and I'm glad that I've had a chance to get to know all of them.

Thanks to Brenda for taking and sharing these pictures...

We had so much fun with this! It was great because it's only a couple inches deep so he could crawl around in it without me worrying too much, but still got to be in the water.

I think Will enjoyed his first grilled cheese!

Now that he's doing so well with table food, I need some more meal ideas. Help me out moms out there in blog world!

These make me laugh.

And this last one is especially cute/funny because it is actually this couple's 10 year wedding anniversary and vow renewal ceremony...so their two little boys join in at the end.

I think Chris and I need to have a 10 year vow renewal ceremony and do this at ours. What do you think?
