Chris turned the big 2-6 on Thursday, so we had a date night last night for his birthday. We really wanted to go see a movie since we would be without baby (thanks Brandi and Adam!), but when Chris initially looked at what was showing he said there wasn't anything he wanted to see. I suggested Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, but he quickly nixed that one. We were bummed because what else were we going to do in Lubbock on Friday night after we ate? We talked about moving somewhere fun for a few minutes and then realized if we did that, we wouldn't have any babysitters to enable us to have a fun night on the town. Then I said I would check to see if there were any movies showing at the other theatre since he had only looked at the one by our house.
I hadn't even heard of The Rocker but since it was rated PG-13, I thought I would look at it a little closer. We aren't against seeing R movies in general, but we have learned that we have to be very careful and get other people's opinions before going to see one...I get so frustrated when we waste money on a movie that is completely raunchy or has horrible language. When I told Chris that Rainn Wilson was in the movie (we love The Office!), he had remembered seeing the preview and said we should go see that. In the first few minutes of the movie, I was rolling my eyes and just about to get up and leave...it wasn't bad (in the ways that I mentioned above), but it was just plain dumb. Then it changed...and turned into the most hilarious movie. We loved it! And if you are a fan of Rainn Wilson, you will definitely like it. It makes me smile just thinking about it....and Chris has already started quoting some parts to me. Has anyone else seen it?

I want to see this movie so bad, but like you I hardly ever get to see a "real" movie in the theatres because of the kiddos. We of course are Rainn fans, so I'll have to check it out!
Just seeing that picture made me laugh.
Happy Belated Birthday Chris!
I am not a big fan of The Office or Rainn Wilson, but my Chris LOVES them both. I am hoping he doesn't get wind of this. Of course, the babysitter thing is an issue for us too. We haven't seen anything at the theater since Pursuit of Happyness. Problem solved. Happy (belated) Birthday, Chris!
