December 1st

I did something crafty for once in my life and made an advent calendar.

Luke 1:26-28, 31
“In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you… You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.’”

Angel Gabriel was inside the box tonight along with the scripture and a marshmallow treat for each of the boys. Reed likes to share his treats and Will doesn't complain. I like this new tradition so far.

I had actually already purchased to box and Christmas papers to make this a couple of months ago, but I found this website last night when I was searching for what to put in each box.

Reed's First Haircut

I've got a lot of catching up to do, but I will start with today, July 12, 2011....Reed's first haircut. It was a big event for me. I was never emotionally attached to Will's hair. It came in straight and we really couldn't do anything with it, so his first cut wasn't that big of a deal. Reed, on the other hand, had the cutest little curls and I just loved them. I really did not want to cut them for a long time. But he got mistaken for a girl for the first time two days ago and Chris has been subtly pushing for a cut, so I gave in. We went to our favorite Sports Clips after dinner tonight and Reed got his first haircut. It was just a week ago that we were in that very place getting Will's haircut when Chris said we should go ahead and cut Reed's hair too. I laughed it off, but tonight he won. He is a squirmy little guy so I wasn't sure how he would do, but Chris held him and gave him a sucker and he did really well. We also got a wonderful stylist named Reese. We will definitely go back to her. She was so patient and good with Reed. My baby is turning into a boy!
